I am sorry that the other times I said this I was not clear enough.
My version of the app (identical to yours) has a search bar. With this, I can easily find the app (despite its “generic name”)
My students have a different version of the app, regardless of whether they are on iOS or android.
Their version of the app does not have a search function. The search function has been removed.
Do you mean, they don’t have “Learn another course” button? Sounds a bit strange to me, because that would mean they cannot add any course, not just yours.
Yes, they have “a learn another course” button. This button does not lead to a search function but rather a list of courses. As I said, what they don’t have is a search function. Memrise have confirmed this with me on twitter, so you don’t have to take my word for it (I don’t know why no one will, though, hee hee).
@Atikker they all got their apps just a few days ago, they are the most up to date versions. (I recommend not updating your memrise in order to avoid ever getting the version they have, it looks very different to what we have and the absentee of a search function is terrible!)
I think the only people who are replying are people who can’t figure out what my problem is, because everyone who understands the problem knows there isn’t really a solution other than the 15 minute one that I did. Memrise haven’t been able to help beyond that either. Can someone close this thread?
I think the best option has been to get everyone’s username and invite them, I will try it next time and I hope it works. If they can’t see the invites in the app or if they aren’t automatically added though then it won’t work, and as the new app doesn’t have a search function, who knows what else it won’t be able to do.
I assume it’s frustrating to get these replies. You’re not the only one with the problem though, so I don’t think it’s fair to other people who have the problem to close this thread.
I have the latest update… updated yesterday … the app seems to be the
same as always. I do encourage them to update their apps… as you can see I
have the search as always
I know everyone has been trying really hard and I really appreciate the effort, please don’t think I don’t. I have just accepted that there is no solution (or that I already have the best ones) and that staying on the thread will just mean I have to keep explaining the situation to new people, all to no avail.

I do have the standard version and that does have search function! Strange that some ‘standard’ versions don’t. The only thing I can imagine is that the version number is differnt. I’ve read all your replies and earlier you said that your ‘version is the same’, but it didn’t mention the actual version number.
I suppose you have already checked your version number (in ‘You’ -> ‘config icon’ (right top corner, see pic) -> scroll down to ‘Version’.)
The version on Play store is 2.9_3927_memrise - is that what the students have? If not, then I would first try that.
My version is from March: 2.9_3916_memrise and does have the search function.
