I’ve been doing my courses daily for several years now, and I vaguely remember this problem arising before.
After doing the courses for the day I close the app as per usual, and then next day it shows an emptry circle, and after doing the course again it shows the streak as 1 day, and next day - yeah, it’s back to zero and day 1 again. Same for the web version, same for opening the app on a different phone. I’m a subscriber and really don’t want to switch to another app, but i need my sweet endorphins. I was thinking it might be a time zone issue, but I haven’t moved anywhere and didn’t change my timezone either.
Hi @erlenwein, sorry to hear this. So your streak is just resetting to 0 every day?
In the attempt to fix this, can you please uninstall the app, restart your device and then reinstall it? This tends to refresh the system and solve the error.
If the issue persists after trying the steps above, please send us the following information:
- Which device you are using
- Which OS you are running
- Which version of Memrise you are using (you can find this information at the bottom of your Settings in the app)
In the meantime, if you have lost a Streak due to issues with the app or website, you can submit a request to restore it by filling in this form.
it seems to have worked for now. I filled out the form for the streak restoration, but i’m afraid the list of my courses didn’t quite fit in, so doubling it here:

I have the same issue - streak lost without any reason. And it happened for the second time.
If streaks are motivational, this works exactly opposite for me. Despite reaching daily goal, streak is gone.
