Speed review not bringing up long term memory

Hi,

I left my memrise for about a month without learning because of finals and vacation, and the long term memory has dropped quite low. Now that I am back, speed review seems to be not working for me. Every time I speed review around 20 correct terms, my long term memory only goes up by 1, instead of the appropriate 20.

Is it possible to resolve this situation?

Thanks!

You mean the so called “long term memory” counter?

speed review does not bring forth those items that one has to review, but sort of a random choice of items (unfortunately, the randomisation is poorly made - the algorithm is not the best).

Next time when you “speed review”, look if the blue counter “review” decreased (in number). That decrease/difference is the number of items in need for review that happened to come up in the speed review.

The speed review is a sort of a joke for those wanting to achieve, for ex, faster reading skills in the target language. Such as myself :sunglasses:

I’ve never noticed speed review affecting my review cycle either (I personally wouldn’t want it to, and would stop using it if I found out that it does).

I don’t use the feature very much either though; really just as a way to finish off any remaining goals at the end of a day’s regular review batch. I do remember specifically checking whether it influenced the review spacing when I started using it though, and I didn’t notice anything.

it does affect your review cycle… try to get right the max of review-able items in speed review: 100, if everything is ok - not only you, but also memrise-bugs-like… if you had 56 items to review in a course - for ex, all of them are considered watered… it works only if you go up up up. Not very doable with Japanese/Chinese/Thai/Farsi etc, I’m afraid

I found Speed Review is no longer bringing down the ‘Review’ count in the blue box, though it used to until very recently.
