I use the website (rather than the Android app - a long story) in a browser on my Android device. Since about a week ago whenever sound is played in Memrise, the sound from say Pandora or other music source is just stopped. This is quite annoying for me as it is my habit to listen to music while I do the language thing. I have tested this now on 3 different browsers. On Firefox and Dolphin, the music is simply stopped dead. On Chrome the music volume is dimmed while the voice plays, then reinstated after. Which is almost as annoying. This did not used to happen, so something must have changed. I also tested this on my Windows 10 PC, and there is no problem there.
Please use the application as the web version is not fully optimised for mobile clients.
That may be true, but the mobile apps aren’t fully optimized for learning, or for taking full advantage of the courses people have created. While I try the mobile apps every few months just to see how they’re coming along, I feel sorry for the people who don’t have the opportunity to use memrise on a laptop/desktop and are relegated to the mobile apps
