Somewhere we can go when Memrise shuts this forum down: memrise.reddit.com

Just want to let y’all know that there’s a subreddit for discussion of memrise, at http://memrise.reddit.com/

It’s been around for years, and supports threaded commenting. Unlike the memrise.com forums, it’s not going to be deleted, so any discussions people have there will probably remain available - at the same URLs - for many years to come. If you have a post you really care about, it may be better to post it there and then link it here, rather than post it directly here, where it may be lost in a few years if memrise changes their mind again about where to host discussions. Especially if you’re writing up an interesting feature request, or a useful how-to, or a browser script, the sort of thing people will want to save links to and refer other people to in the future.

[oops, sorry about the confusing title; corrected it]

Updating the title, and bumping the post.

I think it wouldn’t be too big a surprise if, at some point in the next year, memrise were to shut down this discussion forum. Why they even have it, I’m not sure, since they don’t seem to care much about communicating with users, they’re not linking their mobile app users to here so only a tiny percentage of users come here, and we probably don’t make them feel good with all our complaints, no matter how well justified those complaints are. Since they don’t actually want to hear our complaints or suggestions, why bother with the headache? They might just decide things will be quieter and happier for them without us.

When they shut it down, it’ll be good if all of us here are prepared with somewhere else we could have online discussions, and /r/memrise on reddit seems like an obvious option. So, I wanna make everyone aware of it.
