Continuing the discussion from Bio field will be suspended starting today:
It’s been a few months since the bio field suspension started, and as it is one of tools I use for communicating with a lot of the people learning my courses, I wondered whether there has been any news on this function becoming active again or being permanently disabled?
probably they will not bring back because some bios might offend the always offended people and memrise does’t want anyone to be offended … because that would be offensive
It’s ridiculous how they removed it. I’m pretty sure the reason why was because spambots were advertising their their garbage websites using it. A better solution would have been to require better human verification process on account creation and require 1,000,000 points or so to “unlock” the bio feature. This would have worked fine, but memrise apparently just can’t be bothered and figured it was easier to remove the bio feature altogether.
i gave them a suggestion about it… make it available for people who follow you… if i follow you, which i am, i can see your bio … and if you follow me you can also see my bio … it is a compromise at least … thou the whole bio removal is as stupid as all the new politicaly correct decisions they made in the past two years …
