[Site Feedback] Most idiotic idea ever! (on deletion of course forums)

I have created over 20 courses here on Memrise, basically for myself, because I was tired of courses with multiple mistakes that never got fixed. I enjoyed the interaction in the specific course forums from my courses from motivated learners such as myself. And now you took them from a specific peaceful place to an amusement park with no sense of direction.

I have read enough to know that the ‘powers that be’ think that this is the greatest idea ever, well so did Rosetta Stone when they decided to change everything that made Livemocha great.

Just because you wear a suit and tie doesn’t make your ideas better. Try and honestly listen to your users. The majority of them are not happy with this.

Welcome to the past almost-two-years of Memrise making their service worse and worse and worse every few months, and stubbornly refusing to ever listen to the users. They started being like this in late 2014 and they don’t show any sign of turning back.

I think it could be good if there was still a simple way to access a dedicated forum for the course from the course page (for example, keep the “forum” tag on the course page, but link it to the new forum area in this new forum layout).
The system ought to set such a thing up automatically. It’s kind of ridiculous to expect us course creators to go around manually making threads for all our courses and have to manually link them back into the course description. What are the programmers at memrise doing?? Memrise depends on us course creators for most of their content which keeps their users coming back! Why make such ridiculous, unnecessary and meaningless work for us?

You’re not the first, second, or third person here to have asked for that. We all think that should happen. Except the memrise staff, who are ignoring us and not saying anything about it.

I found an option … I think. I will wait and see. I added a Multimedia Level to my course and positioned at the top. I explained to the course takers how Memrise took away the course forum and how to try and contact me despite of this.

This is what I wrote in my courses, so tell me how it sounds, and tell me if it works.

Memrise has decided, in all of their infinite wisdom, to get rid of individual course forums without even consulting with course creators. What they didn’t realize is how easy it was for students of the course to contact the course creator for whatever reason necessary. It is now near impossible to report errors or suggest changes to a course.

To maintain the integrity of my courses, and to help all of those taking them I have created a profile page on the new, general forum. I hope that you guys can email me from there. Just make sure you mention the course, the level, the error, etc.
