Get an IRC client, connect it to irc.freenode.net, /join #memrise and say hi.

yes its nice idea too, i am daily user of irc but mostly new peoples dont know about irc, because irc is old school stuff
You don’t even have to have a dedicated client as there’s web chat at https://webchat.freenode.net/ .
