Memrise courses are mostly community made, which causes quality of some of them to be rather questionable.
The one you presented honestly isn’t so bad. Check out these:

absolutely excellent course, community/user (@ djupton9) made: http://www.memrise.com/course/284344/400-top-birdsongs/ (ok, not “animals” but birds). I left that course just because simply “UK birds” are not exactly the birds singing around me everyday 
I once did that course too, you have more than one choice of the same animal, and you may click the wrong one.
