Should I add an alternative which removes special characters?

I’m making a Prussian course based off the original memrise ones, and it contains the characters ā ē ī ū and š. These can all be found on the latvian keyboard, and the alternatives can be found on the French one as â ê î û and sh. Should I add a second English keyboard alternative for people who can’t change their keyboard settings, or would that just cause people to get lazy and forget the original words?

Try adding the characters inside the course http://feedback.memrise.com/knowledgebase/articles/525119-activate-an-in-browser-keyboard

I thought that “a” would be accepted instead of “ā”, “e” instead of “ē”, etc. unless strict typing was turned on. Have you tested to see if this is the case?
