Request to become a Contributor to two abandoned French courses

I would like to become a Contributor to WJEC French course by quicheellys The course can be found at this link: https://www.memrise.com/course/261337/wjec-french-vocab-2/
I requested many months ago some corrections to the course (by Fanny I think) but assume that quicheellys did not respond. Thank you. MaxineDownunder.

Hi - This user has opted out of receiving emails, so we would be unable to contact them. For this reason, unfortunately we would be unable to add you as a contributor at this time.

If you have any other abandoned course requests, feel free to create a new thread for us to review

That’s regrettable. Thanks for getting back to me though @MemriseMatty.

Can I ask if they are still active on MemRise, please?

It’s been asked before, but is there any way that a keen and skilful user like @MaxineDownunder can be given (or obtain simply) a cloned copy of the course to make her own amendments without affecting the parent course in situations like this?

Unfortunately we’re not able to provide cloned copy’s of courses / duplicates, as the system hasn’t been built for that function. We’ll pass the feature request on to the Decks team. However I would not expect this is something that would be implemented at this stage or in the foreseeable future.

Many thanks for your reply and for passing that ‘thought’ (comment) on - no harm asking - as they say.

Thanks @DW7, I appreciate your efforts. To continue with this course, which is actually really a beginner course, at least thus far, I’m hiding incorrect words, eg “a casserole” should be “la casserole”. There are a few others like this where the first letter on the article is dropped, no doubt inadvertently. It’s really most annoying and would be SO SIMPLE to fix. Oh well, onward and upward. Thanks again.

Hello @MemriseMatty, I have found another course (“5000 Most Common French Words”), which appears to be abandoned. The creator is not on the Forum so I cannot contact them to check whether I could be made a Contributor to this course. Can you kindly follow-up on this? Thank you. MaxineDownunder

Here’s a link to the course: https://www.memrise.com/course/131111/5000-most-common-french-words/

Link now added (inadvertently omitted before). Thanks.

I’d love to see someone maintain that course. I just revived the thread for that course yesterday.

As an outsider I don’t follow why the Forum says “course-forum-5000-most-common-french-words-by-ciccero

but the course says it is actually created by chartalegna?

Perhaps the Creator changed their name, in which case @chartalegna (or a leader) needs to change the Forum thread to the new name or to reflect both names.

Cc @ciccero @chartalegna (Incidentally I see she is active in the Forum and I will invite her.)
