Request to become a contributor to "DLI MSA"

Link to course: DLI MSA - by معهد.الصداع.للغات - Memrise

I contacted the creator of the course in this forum in June (Suggestions for DLI MSA course), but their last post is dated May 2020. I would like to become a contributor for this course, as I am a current student of the curriculum that this course is based on, and I’ve noticed several errors, like incorrect pronunciation, misleading definitions, and overall the words could use some cleanup as there are many duplicates. This course has been very beneficial to me and my fellow classmates, but I don’t want anyone to learn something that they will have to unlearn because it is wrong/inaccurate.

Hi @msouthard900192, thanks for your post. I can see this user is still active on Memrise, so as we don’t consider this course abandoned, we won’t be able to add you as a contributor. However, we have contacted them to review your posts :slightly_smiling_face:

Hey @MemriseSupport, just to follow up, any response from the creator? Also, what constitutes an “active” user? Their profile shows they were last seen Feb 2, which is a little over 6 months ago.
Just to demonstrate some of the changes that I would make, I went and did a session on Chapter 8 of words I didn’t finish and wrote down some notes:
الفصل 8
َدَرَّب - to train/training (II)
َفَرَّش - to brush/brushing (II)
الفصح - add “عيد الفصح” as an option
عيد الأضحى المبارك - add “عيد الأضحى” as an option
عيد الفطر المبارك - add “عيد الفطر” as an option
عيد القيامة المجيد - add “عيد القيامة” as an option
change أفعال to فِعل - verb(s) with the plural as an option
عيد ميلاد السيد المسيح - add audio, change definition from “Christmas (long)” to “Christmas (Birthday of the Messiah)” for less ambiguity, add “عيد ميلاد المسيح” as an option

Worth noting is that I would add diacritics to every verb (might do the nouns too) as pronunciation is a very important part of learning new words and sounding native, and add/correct the measure numbers. Additionally, I would add 3rd person masculine present tense and verbal noun as options to every verb, like so:
َدَرَس - to study, learn (I)
يَدْرُس، دَرْس

Hello @MemriseSupport, any update yet on the course creator? Their last post is May 2020, and they were last seen 7 months ago, so I’m assuming they’re still inactive. I’ve been trying to get in touch since June, to no avail. I think I’d be a good contributor, I’m active almost every day, and I’m entering the final semester of this course in a couple weeks. My Arabic reading level (ILR scale) is 2+ right now, so I’m at a pretty good level for what effectively amounts to vocab translation

Hi @msouthard900192, apologies for missing your previous post. From our end, we are able to see more activity on a user’s account.
As the creator doesn’t appear to have been active more recently and already has granted several users contributor access to this course, we have now added you as contributor too. Enjoy :slightly_smiling_face:
