Question about review

Hello,

I finished with polish 1, and i’m now doing the second course.

When i’m doing the review words training, I am doing from both courses (all courses you have done), or do you review only the one which you are currently doing?

br,
Tom

Reviewing is done on a course by course basis. I’d like that we could combine courses, but that’s not how Memrise is designed. Anyway, you can simply select the first course, do all pending reviews and move to the next one. The advantage is that the various items of material are more similar to each other - might be easier to recall.

I’m not sure. On top of the screen there is only one button with Review. If it was per course, i should have a review button above every course right?

The review button also has a dragdown button ’ polish’ , so i would assume it’s taking every course in this section.

As John said, if you are using the app version, you review each course individually but, if you are using the web version, you have the choice of reviewing course by course or reviewing everything in the category (using the blue “Review” button in the top bar to the left of the drop down menu).

In the example below, I could either click the blue Review button and review all 229 items across all my Finnish courses or I could choose an individual course that I want to review, open it and then click on the blue Review button on that course’s homepage:

As you say, you can use the drop down box to select which category you want to review.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for that tip! I didn’t even know that option existed, although I was aware that people reviewed across courses, I had no idea HOW they did it!

No, you should not stop reviewing old courses - even the streak ends for completed courses on the Memrise web portal.

This will prevent that you are going to review “overdue” words in your Polish 1 backlog queue.

Memrise does NOT have any support for “Overdueness”, once you have stopped reviewing for several weeks or months, to be able to catch up
(Cooljingle had programmed a very cool user script which support that, but Memrise made an update where this functionality was not accessible/controllable anymore, sadly to say).

Recommendation: If time allows, try to get your backlog queue down to ZERO for each course!

However, you might run into the problem, that you still do it at a given time when you have finally reached courses 6+7 as your time does might allow to review ALL seven courses, therefore you probably need to just focus on 1-2 ACTIVE courses (this all depends on “all typing” vs multiple-choice, web portal vs mobile app, single words vs phrases/complete sentences, number of max words per course, size of backlog queue).

But for the first three courses, you should not have any problem to also review ALL the words DAILY from your Polish 1 course backlog queue.
