Would be anyone able to help, to point me the right way?
I am preparing chemistry course, somewhat in the semblance of this one:
As you can see, it is important that each entry has meaning coupled with image of chemical structure (equivalent to courses having kanji or chinese script tested)
It has to be in one direction - no typing test. (choosing from pictures instead)
Unfortunatelly
I do not know how to produce this setup in current form (I tested to make some privat language courses with words coupled together, and that was easy, however I cannot reproduce Simscreedās way of using pictures for testing)
If possible, I would love also to upgrade the afformentioned with this feature:
Every entry would have in the column for images not only one correct pictorial answer, but also one āalternateā correct pictorial answer. Basically, whether user might choose the first or the latter, it would still be correct.
It would be important, that the algoritm would be offering to the tested āstudentā any of thise two images for taping test.
Guys? Is there anyone, who would know how to help me?
It is possible to add more than one picture for a word, here is a general description of how to create an image-based course. Following this step by step should help.
If you get stuck feel free to ask again So far I just made one picture / sound course (bird songs) - but there are lots of experts in the forums who might help with the details.
The link that @Foorgol gave you is a guide I produced some time ago. Hopefully, it should help.
In my World Geography course: A World Geography (with audio). - by alanh - Memrise most items have more than one image. In some cases, itās 3 or 4. Most items also have an audio file. Here is what one of the edit pages looks like:
In this course, I set the country name as the āWordā and the image(s) as the āDefinitionā. I then set the testing direction as ātestā on āWordā and āpromptā with āDefinitionā. When learning or reviewing, the image displayed is selected randomly so that you are presented with either a single image (for a typing test) or a selection of images (for a multiple choice test). I donāt think itās possible to be presented with more than one ācorrectā image for any one item, though. Is that want you wanted to achieve?
That geography course is exactly the layout I really am aiming for the Chemistry ⦠However, it is exactly what I want in just the web version, when I tried it on my iOS app, it was always showing just one of the pictures (at least I think, I tried to be really attentive to it).
In learning session, - In web I love, how we can go through the images (clicking on the arrows) ⦠however on the app, I can not swipe the pictures left and right and go through all of them ⦠I am given one picture, the one which is later tested ⦠it would make sense to swipe it left and alternate would be there ⦠however that does nothing. The picture does not go away, even though I know, that āNorth Koreaā for example, has yet another oneā¦
Yes, I think you are right. The app version doesnāt seem to have the same functionality as the web version.
I have just had a look at the iOS app version of my geography course. As the course is ācompletedā, I couldnāt do a learning session so couldnāt check if it allows you to scroll through the available images for each item. From what you say, it doesnāt do that in the same way as it does in the web version.
Doing a review session, each test only offered me a single image (for a typing test). Iām not sure if future reviews of the same items would give me an alternative image to be tested on. Iāll see what happens over the coming days. I know from experience that the web version randomly selects the image it shows you (because, if you give a wrong answer, it will show you a different image on next review). I wasnāt given any multiple choice tests but, when I gave a deliberate wrong answer, it did give me a MC test when I did the āDifficult Wordsā review for that wrong answer. Hereās a screen shot of that one:
Yes just upload a second picture in the same column or in a NEW column if you want to test each photo or image separately . . . . . . . . . . .
PS I see some of the experts have already answered you!
