Please can I become a Contributor to an abandoned Esperanto course

Speak Esperanto Like a Native!™ 1
The creator of this course has been deleted and it does not support the x-system or the h-system. I would like contributor access so that I can add one of the systems (probably x as I use this in my own courses, but I’m happy to do h if others say that they prefer it, I could even do both if I have the time).
In the course description the creator wrote:

For feedback: http://community.memrise.com/c/language-quarters

but I could not find the course forum.

I hope that this is the right place to post, I’m still relatively new to this community.

Thanks

Yes that’s fine @rlkirby, but you could also create a “[Course Forum]” for future use, saying that it’s by “_deleted_141109_0131_57”

You could change the title of this thread (if you like) to:

“Please can I become a Contributor to an abandoned Esperanto course.”

But you could also create a “[Course Forum]” for future use, saying that it’s by “_deleted_141109_0131_57"

Sure, I’ll do it once I have access, unless there is a benefit for doing it now?

For courses by ‘live’ users I know MemRise likes to see that we have created a [Course Forum] already (and tried to contact the Creator) but given that this is obviously someone who is not around, I agree you might as well wait.

Our biggest problem is that we don’t know if there is a Contributor and if they are around and I guess that is partly the reason for the forum thread, but that is something MemRise Support can check for you.

It is worth adding that you are a Contributor and that there is a [Course Forum] to the description, once you have access, to help others contact you.

OK, I’ll do that. Thanks.

We have now added @rlkirby as a contributor to the course in question. Please create a course forum thread in the relevant section (http://community.memrise.com/c/decks-courses) incase other users need to contact you regarding this course - Thanks

Thank you, I’ve had a look at the course, and it appears that the x-system is supported. I quickly experimented with one of my own courses and found this to be the problem:

I think that I need to turn off this setting for the alternatives to be allowed, however, I cannot change this. Is this something that only the creator can do?

Currently yes but the MemRise team can also do it.
