Not showing any learning events even though I revised a lot of words today

My username is Caroline Jackson 9659

This has happened this morning on both IOS app and on the website using windows 10/ chrome browser.

I have revised 10-15 or so different courses this morning (classic review) but the learning graph is showing 0 learning events.

Also says I have 0hr 0min learning time.

Hope this can be fixed as don’t want to lose my 365 day streak.
Thanks

Same here. I’ve spent about an hour and learnt some new words. I have an extra day recorded on the 5 courses I’m running goals on, but it’s showing 0 hrs and no new events. I have only 3 more hrs left today (in my time zone). I hope this can be rectified quickly. Thank you! @MemriseSupport and @ale_c

I have the same problem and there seem to be no new reviews arriving today

Yep, me too. Reviews are working as normal but learning events and learning time are not registering in my stats.

I got reviews now. Perhaps just a quiet day

FWIW, I already went through my lessons today on my Android tablet. The streaks are all OK on the web as well.

That said, if this is a problem related to the website only, I’d suggest to use the app in order to not lose your streaks. Just in case, @MemriseSupport et al doesn’t react in a timely enough fashion …

Same here. The database is not syncing today. Please fix that.

Oh, just checked the stats page, and there it does say 00:00 for the last 24h. However, on the dashboard, the relevant courses show their streak along with “Goal complete!”.

So it could as well be just a minor tweak.

Hi all,

Apologies for the delay in update here.

Due to an upstream service disruption, we experienced some issues with recording progress today between approximately 2AM and 5AM GMT.

In response to this, to ensure people’s core progress data was being recorded, we disabled a service which powers the learning stats calculator on the web. We are re-enabling it this morning. This means that there may be gaps in learning stats on the web for events learnt overnight.

Streaks on mobile should not be affected as progress on streaks is recorded independently of the affected areas. Some streaks may have been affected on web if progress wasn’t recorded as it should have been. If you find that your web streaks have been broken, please request a streak restoration via this form.

Thank you for bearing with us and let us know if you continue to face issues later on in the day.

Kind regards,
Memrise team

Hi again. Just an update to say that learning stats has now been re-enabled, so you should see learning events recorded as usual again on web

I still have no points for today.

I have done complete sessions today on both the Android App and the Web but my Stats shows no points (or events) for today.

Streaks on mobile should not be affected as progress on streaks is recorded independently

Mobile did not get logged on the web Stats page.

Stats 20 Nov

Perhaps I’d better do another revision session.

PS
new points now show (but not old points from this morning).

Thanks for fixing it.

Just logged back on and learning events/time from earlier today were still not showing. Then reviewed some more words and those (but not earlier figures) registered ok.

Hi both. Apologies for any confusion. Unfortunately, you will still see a gap in your learning stats where we had downtime today. However, from now on progress should be recording correctly.

Yesterday’s progress had not been recorded and today’s progress has been recorded in Friday’s spot.
My timezone is set correctly.
I also noticed, about a week ago, that the event calculator doesn’t add up correctly. It says I learn most on a Wednesday when in fact this is probably my worst learning day.

Just noticed this happening again today.

Yes, from yesterday no events are added neither from Desktop, nor from Android, also changes/edits in the courses themselves do not update the courses on Android, no matter what I do (reload, restart, direct link to the changed level, etc)

Hi all,

Unfortunately, due to another performance issue caused by an incidence with AWS, we had to disable learning stats temporarily again. You can read more on this here: https://memrise.helpshift.com/a/memrise-learn-a-new-language/?s=latest-announcements&f=25-nov-2020-known-issues-with-login-and-loading-times&l=en

Once we have confirmation that all is fixed on AWS’s side, we can enable this again.

We apologise for any inconvenience.

Kind regards,
Memrise team

Thanks for the explanation @MemriseSupport.

Could I ask that, when you are posting the explanation in the “Latest Announcements” area of the FAQs, you also post it as a pinned item in the Forum?

Thanks

@MemriseSupport: further to what @alanh wrote: is there anything like a status page that you post to? For instance, most providers for critical or 24/7 services utilize such a page in order to inform customers. Usually, it’s possible to subscribe to events posted there.

Here’s an example for a telephony provider. On the top right, there’s a subscribe button that allows to receive email notifications about said events:
