No not goodbye! GOODBYE!

This kind of feels like a bug to me… Happened twice today

People have been reporting this sporadically for years. I’ve had it happen to me a number of times. But you actually got a screenshot! Usually the screen goes away too quickly to capture.

One time when I reported it to memrise they gave me some explanation involving columns with duplicate values in the course, but I’m quite sure based on how that course was designed that that wasn’t the cause. I explained to them why I concluded that, and they never responded again.

However, it might sometimes happening due to a course with duplicate values in the same column… even though there’s clearly also a bug in memrise that makes it happen for other reasons sometimes as well.

Thanks for letting us know. Level 1 and 3 both have ‘goodbye’ in the English column, duplicate entries in the same column result in identical multiple choice tiles if they are within the same database. My Japanese colleague @MarikoMizutani will look into it asap. Hopefully she can get it fixed shortly. Apologies for the annoyance in the meantime.

Goodbye! GOODBYE!

Hi! Thank you for your comment. Goodbye is meant to appear twice in Japanese 1, once as sayounara and a little bit later as さようなら… that being said, the duplicate in MC looks like a bug. I will look into that right now
