Minasan, konnichiwa! The new year is almost upon us, happy new year everyone!
I wanted to create a topic for everyone to share their Japanese studying goals for 2017, whether it is finishing a certain book, a collection of Memrise courses, Anki decks, Video games, Anime, Drama… etc.
What are your plans for 2017 everyone? What are you going to do?
And how was 2016, reflecting on the many months that have passed, would you have done things differently?

Wish you a happy new year full of fluency! And thank you for all the mems you have created, I am pretty sure I ran into them more than I could count.
Personally, I’m planning on putting my learning into hyperdrive and I hope to fully memorize my kana into true fluency where I can actually read at a reasonable pace, as well as learn my first 1000 words and hopefully a similar number of kanji. My goal is to be Japan ready by the time I go to Tokyo next year, and to be able to read my VNs by then as well.
To do this, I’m planning on putting in at least an hour a day between here and a few other sites and apps, and I’m confident that I can make it so if I try hard. For anyone else here on the forums, がんばてください！
i’m doing 10 kanji per day with 2136 joyo kanji by grade.
you could also use no typing Speed Kanji
that would be 214 days to know the basic kanji
