So I just reset my Chinese levels 1 & 2. It’s become very frustrating to me that all of a sudden some words, words that I learned in the previous level 1 & 2, are hyphenated. My wife, who is a native Chinese speaker confirms that the hyphens are “B.S.” - her words. This adds to the previous lessons frustrations where there are misused and misplaced spaces in words or phrases that make it very difficult to spell out correctly, especially when you know the actual correct answer.
More-over, why was there a need to include “swear words” in the lessons? Wo Qu (我去) is considered by many to be a swear word and for the most part it is viewed that only low class people use phrases like this. I’ve lived in mainland china long enough now and I’ve never even heard the phrase used by anyone other than a construction worker or a street cleaner. It’s nonsense.
