New user need assistance

Can anyone advise how to link both the app and the iPad so both keep up to date with where I am in my course?

I suppose you have already installed the Memrise app on your iPad and are able to see the courses you are studying and able to access & study them on both iPad and the web.

When you study on the iPad, the latest progress is retrieved from the Memrise server before each study (game) session, later the progress is automatically sent back to the Memrise server, synchronizing your progress between platforms. There might be some time between one and the other, depending on your internet, but it is usually quite instant (at least for my on Android it is quite instant). Is this not your experience?

No sadly not.

I tend to use my app the most when sitting waiting.

When I go to use the iPad at home as I find the typing easier. I have to start already every time and any progress made on the phone app is lost.

I love the programme and learning but find it a touch tedious to revisit everything each day.

Are you sure you logged in to the same account on both devices? I use Memrise with the web, with an Android phone and an Android tablet. My account is synchronized across all devices.

I was wondering the same thing, Olaf. I have just tried doing a review on the Memrise Android app on my phone and then checked my iPad. The sync to both the Memrise website and to the Memrise iOS app was almost immediate. I also did a review on the iOS Memrise app on my iPad and then checked the Memrise website there. The sync was immediate.

I am also a beta tester for the forthcoming Decks Android app and that synced to all versions/devices straightaway too (including my laptop).

@denishewitt - Is your problem related to syncing between the Memrise iOS app on your iPhone and the iOS app on your iPad or between the iOS app and the website?

Approximately how long should it take to transfer across and how many sessions do you have to cover to enable to to do this.

For example I have just done one lesson on learn with the locals on iPad and it hasn’t logged it with iPhone.

Does it happen immediately?

Okay I have signed out and in on both devices and it has updated.

No, you shouldn’t have to sign in and out each time but that often clears a ‘blockage’. I always stay signed-in to the apps.

I just tried a ‘learn with the locals’ session (10 items) on the app on my iPad and it synced to my Android phone app straightaway.

I log out and logged in on both of the same accounts and it seems to have solved the problem.
