Greetings all. I updated to iOS version 2.2.27 last evening and this morning I noticed that each time I try to review learned items, or learn new items, I get logged out of a session and am sent back to the home screen on my iPad. If I want to continue reviewing or learning I have to re-launch the app (i.e. being “beamed up to the mothership”). It was not this way prior to the update. Is anyone else experiencing this, or am I the only (un)lucky one ?
(Yes, I deleted and re-installed the app; and yes, I powered my iPad off and then on. I still have the same issues. This happens on every course I tried, not any one in particular).
I am on IOS 10.3.2. Again, all was fine, prior to the upgrade last evening. Thank you.
(Tagging @Joshua so someone at Memrise will be sure to read this.)
Still having issues with this new version on my iPad, despite having installed, deleted, re-installed several times; powering off/on, etc.
Everything was copacetic prior to the upgrade. No changes were made to my iPad with anything other than the Memrise update.
The version is listed on the Memrise Settings page as v 2.2.27 (2720). On the iOS App Store (where I downloaded the app from) it is listed as 2.2.26 on the Purchased page, but 2.2.27 on Details tab of the Download page.
The issue is that I cannot learn or review items beyond one screen. I am booted out every time an action is completed.
For example. If I want to review 12 items (under the normal blue review option), I can do that, but as soon as the last item is reviewed, I am booted out of the app and sent to the Home Screen of my iPad. The same thing if I want to learn 5 items, or go over a Difficult Word. I can do that, but as soon as the last item is completed (and I mean like a split second later) I am booted out and sent to the Home Screen. If I want to do anything else, I have to re-launch the app.
It’s kind of a silly exercise in futility at this point. Luckily I use the website for almost all of my learning/reviewing, but I hope that whatever is causing this bizarre behavior can be resolved.
No one else is seeing this type of issue with this new version of the iOS app ?
Hi @pdao - Sorry to hear this! We are aware of this bug affecting a certain number of users, and hope to have it fixed by the end of the week.
Please check the Apple / iOS store tomorrow and update to the latest version. The new version on the iOS store should have the fix for this bug included. I hope this helps.
@MemriseMatty ~ great news ! Version 2.2.28 (2813) just appeared in the iOS store and I downloaded it and it seems to work like a charm. No more aborted learning/reviewing sessions. Thank you to the team for resolving this issue so quickly. Have a great day !
Note: Now this post truly has a “solution”. (The solution was the release of a patched version).
