I don’t know if you were learning or were revising - but I think this applies to both modes.
You only get a maximum score if you answer an item correctly some four times.
After a wrong answer you next get 15 points which slowly increase to a maximum, in stages.
It could be you were on the penultimate time of resetting the counter. (?)
