I’ve been playing it in japanese while using https://jisho.org/ to look up words I don’t recognize and it really seems to improve my reading skills.

Sounds like fun, though I wonder how much this helps. It will likely be the most beneficial for people in the lower-intermediate levels of language learning. On the other hand, what I’m learning right now uses the Latin alphabet, so it probably helps you more to get more familiar with Japanese text…
