Memrise was restored

Not for me either. Just did a big review session just to discover the problem. Now I will have to do it again!

The website is still not working for me.

I can review and get the point bonuses for speed and accuracy, but am not being awarded 150 points per word. The review screen shows the points, and so does the first session complete screen, but the daily goal bar only advances about 300-325 for a 15-word review session. However, the dashboard shows no progress on any daily goals.

Also, I can’t ignore or un-ignore items. It simply won’t save.

I don’t get points at all. About 180 showed up at the end of a 63 word session, but they disappear right after and don’t show up anywhere. In the app at least the reviewed items disappear, but they still don’t give any points when synchronizing.

And my streak is behaving strangely too: on Saturday I’m fairly sure I reached 80 days, then on Sunday it became 79, and now of course it is just after midnight, and it is still 79. (At least it is not zero.)

I am unable to add words to a second level of my course. I have tried several times to add words but it simply does not work.

Welp, at least they have a banner saying there is an issue now. Unlike when the Strict type, hyphen, comma, issue was in effect.

Was? It still is.

Knock on wood, but it seems to be fixed for the majority of my courses. I would like to try it out @diegovizia 's course to see if it works there, but he’s switched it to multiple choice as a quick fix to the issue.

It’s still broken and not saving progress, whether learning new words or reviewing learned ones. Really going to suck when it’s all sorted because I have over 700 words to review at the moment, sigh.

I was trying to create a new course and it’s not accepting bulk import into the lessons. Guess that’s related to this as well.

Yes, me neither.
When to repair this problem?
I can’t add new words.

It’s not working for me either.

Yes, it seems to be working for my course now. I restored the Typing Tests for my Kanji Course, but beware because Memrise isn’t saving your progress right now, so I wouldn’t waste my time practicing. Let’s hope they fix this soon too.

Maybe it’s for the course or something … but it works for me, I can add words, the app saves the changes, my score normally increases.

Awesome. Thanks again for that quick bandage. Now, only if Memrise was as fast about it and wouldn’t stop breaking the entire site in the process.

some people use the web version… there the situation is unchanged

Yes, I have a lot of unreviewed items because the Neanderthal staff of Memrise broke the reviewing system while fixing the strict typing issue. Having my learning depend on a bunch of incompetent programmers is frustrating.

dear @lien, help us, please: would you please remember your dev colleagues that lots of memrise users use (solely) the web version?

You have opted to depend on them by using this site. I’m not happy about this situation either, but there are other ways I can study in the meantime. Relying on a single resource is never a good idea.

Mine still isn’t working. It keeps giving me the same 10 words to review. I’m up to 94 words to review and the site won’t let me! I used this site every day. So frustrating. I’m afraid to lose my progress. :frowning:

I have the app, and I could use the app, but I DESPISE using the app.

Mems are what make Memrise unique, effective, and better than the alternatives. If I attempt to plant on the app, I am forced to answer incorrectly in order to choose a mem. That is ridiculous. Not only that, but several of my courses have no mems, few mems, or only lame mems. For me, not being able to create my own on the app makes it close to useless for learning.

Reviewing is okay, but I’d much rather type than answer multiple choice. Multiple choice doesn’t confirm that I actually know how to spell the word. (For example: acestă, acesta, această, and aceasta are all words for “this” in Romanian. It’s vital that I practice spelling the correct version, not simply choose the word in the list with an A and EST or EAST.)

This downtime has an upside. It gives me the opportunity to practice lessons in Turkish that I’m not good at, while also earning points. (I’d say, “practice Turkish and Romanian,” but I simply don’t have much Romanian due for watering…)
