Memrise new courses are bugging me!

Why don’t Memrise just update its already created courses instead of creating new ones with the same name!! I am studying Japanese 1 created by Memrise and just discovered there is now another Japanese 1, and there is even a Japanese 0. So, What do I now?? should I quit the old one and start the new one?

I am not certain, but I’m just gonna go out on a limb and say that these are both the same course. One being the American version, and the other being British. Now why is there a difference in the number of words is beyond me.
Japanese 0 is just an introductory. Though I’d recommend you take it.

Hello
I have created a list of Japanese courses for English speakers, with the link and number of words.

Japanese 1 for UK English speakers:

Japanese 1 for US English speakers:

By the number of words, you can see that you have added the new and old US English course to your learning list. The new course was recently added on the courses page (the Japanese 0 was added, and the Japanese 1-2 were changed).

The new and old courses are quite different, but I do not have enough knowledge in Japanese to tell you which of the two is the best. I already did the old (version for UK speakers) and started the new one because I found it interesting. It seems that the phrases are aimed at who wants to visit Japan for tourism. If you can, maybe it’s best to learn both courses. If you find repeated words, you can use the “ignore” option.

@Milamy Do you by any chance have the links of the other old courses of Japanese 2, 3, … from UK?
I noticed I had words learned in the old UK Japanese 1 and that may explain why I have over 1200 words extra in my “Words Learned”.

Hello @Voylinslife

Only the Japanese 1 and 2 were changed, the Japanese 3-7 was not changed.

Japanese 2 for UK English speakers:

I have the link of the first Japanese courses (before 2017, faces of people), which had different figures.
