I’m using Memrise to study German. In the second module it want’s me to lay out the sentence “das sind meine Mutter and Vater.” Everytime I do, it marks Vater wrong. Then I ask for the correct answer and it gives me exactly that. Vater. Somethings wrong with that question.

The sentence “das sind meine Mutter und Vater” sounds
very strange and I think it’s wrong.
correct is: das ist meine Mutter und das ist mein Vater.
or: das sind meine Eltern.
actually it expects “das sind meine Mutter und mein Vater”, which is the correct and naturally sounding phrasing.

and I had no problem with the sentence
and yes T_Sc529 “das sind meine Mutter und mein Vater” is correct

It was just confusing, because it would mark “Vater” wrong. When what was wrong is that “mein” before “Vater” was missing. I realize that now. But hopefully, my confusion can help your developers in the future to improve the product.
