Lost streaks due to a new level of course

When the users (we) uprade to a higher level in a course (For example starting to German 5 after German 4), the streaks’ counter resets. Isn’t it possible or worth to consider resuming the counter provided that the uprade is happenning between relevant courses?

On Memrise, each course has its own streak.

There’s also a ongoing discussion about the attendance streak (of which I’m not yet convinced it exists).
