Listening Skills overload in Dutch!

I purchased Memrise Pro the other day. At this point it feels like it was a huge mistake vs sticking with the free version.

My ears are bleeding from the amount of listening skills practice I have had over the last two days. Here is what today’s lesson looked like with a 30 minute target:

Then after I had hit the points target for the day it had the audacity to recommend ‘Listening Skills’ again! In the ‘30 minute’ session I went from 37 words mastered to 39, and had the pleasure of listening to ‘ik’ countless times. I would say ‘ik ben boos!’

I am aware I can choose what I do next, but surely I should be able to just follow the ‘up next’ to guide the program. At this rate if I followed the recommended ‘up next’ I would take me 81 days or 40.5 hours to finish Dutch 1 which has a recommended finish time of 3 hours.

Edit:
Today’s lesson breakdown was once again overloaded with Listening Skills. I am editing this post and requesting a refund for my 12 month subscription.

Another oddity was that my daily target had been reduced from the highest level (30 mins) to the lowest level, learn five words/whatever point or time equivalent. I did not action this myself.

I stopped here but the next recommended lesson was Listening Skills again.

Is this about the Android app (that’s what I’m using most of the time)? If so, then: well, yes, you should, and I recall that there was a discussion about this some years ago where the Memrise team claimed that they were applying an algorithm to determine what is being suggested.

In reality it seems the app is simply randomly suggesting something. I recall that the app used to at least suggest learning new words when there was nothing to review, but that was gone a good while ago.

I’ve never seen rhyme or reason in the suggested ‘next up’, I just pick what I need to do

The algorithm is heinously broken if there is such a thing. I am using the web app.
