Learning more than 1 language and count of "words learned"

Hello,
I’ve been using memrise to study French for more than 1 year, and my word count now stands at 4408. I am thinking of beginning to also study a different language, say, Spanish.

My question is:
After starting to also learn Spanish, will the word count memrise displayed simply be an aggregate of words in French and Spanish? Or, would I be able to see separate word counts for each language?

Thanks.

Hey there!

No, the word count displayed is for all the words you’ve learned on this site. It doesn’t differentiate between courses, or languages.
However, you can still see the number of words learned on the upper right corner side of each course on your dashboard! (On the web version though, don’t know if that applies to phones)

You can look at the number of words you have learned in each course and do the math to know how many are Spanish and how many are French.

Depending on which language you are learning and how many courses you took, adding them all together could be really inconvenient. This feature would be really useful!

Exactly! I think Memrise should look into enabling this feature. If I am learning more than 1 language, I would like to easily know the progress I’ve made in each of the languages. Manually adding up words for each language would be a lot of trouble.
