Learn New Words is now a review session

I’ve been using the Desktop version of Memrise for a few months to learn two user-created French courses. Since the beginning, Learn New Words has always shown me nothing but brand-new, never-before-seen words. However, since I recently began using the Android app a week ago, Learn New Words (in both the app AND THE DESKTOP) now shows me all of the words that I learned yesterday, and only two never-before-seen words.

The words that I learned yesterday have icons that have not yet “bloomed” into a flower, meaning that they have not been completely learned yet. However, those words used to show up in my REVIEW SESSIONS. My review sessions consisted of partially-learned new words as well as previously-learned review words. That way I could do all my reviewing at once, and then learn 5 COMPLETELY new words in my Learning session.

Now that I’ve tried the Android app, I have no choice but to go through my partially-learned words in my Learning session, which only leaves enough room for about 2 completely new words.

Instead of learning 5 new words each day per course, I’m only learning 2. I’ve gone from 10 total to 4 total each day.

I want this to stop. This is extremely inefficient. I’ve already learned 400 words on this website and I planned to learn 10,000 eventually. At this rate, I’ll never get there. Is anyone else having this problem?

I don’t have that, but “review” is anyhow somehow messed up. I’ve been reviewing for the last hour old courses, and being them courses with long levels, i took it by level (i.e. review one level after the other). In absolutely all cases, I did not review only items from that level, but mostly items from that level and some other items from other levels as well. Also, instead of having all mistaken items simply “wrong” and marked for review in 4 hours, some of them pop up immediately as fresh “review” session (but this was like this for months now)
