Due to the nature of the language, giving out characters on the virtual keyboard pretty much reveals every answer if you know how to read it. Please create an option to turn this off if anything just for Japanese and Chinese.

I agree with you. Why is this even a thing? Don’t get me wrong I like memrise I’ve been using it for months now and I can’t think of using anything else but this instantly made me consider other options because there is no way this can be an efficient way to learn.
The best solution I found so far is to use AdBlocker to block these characters, works perfectly. Auto-accept is still an issue though.

I strongly agree. If it is not changed such that one can disable this feature, I may consider switching flashcard apps. I really would also prefer to be able to disable auto-accept.
