Is there an option to review only a few levels, for example if you have level 1 2 3 4 5 and you only want to review 2 and 3. Can you do that without reviewing them per level?
I think the only way you could achieve that would be to âignoreâ all the items in levels 1, 4 and 5 before reviewing, and then âunignoreâ them again afterwards. Otherwise, itâs a case of reviewing by level.
Edit: Just found this earlier discussion: Make a possibility to choose course's levels for review
@alanh ~ Whenever I want to review certain items in a level, or even a whole level, even if they are not ready for review by the Memrise SRS, I just go onto the web version, select the course I want, then select the level I want to review (this is of course assuming it has more than one level to begin with) and then select the Options button and then choose the âPreviewâ choice. This allows me to see ALL the information for all items in the level (including all the attributes, sound files, images, etc.).
Since it is only in Preview mode, you donât have to worry about providing responses (correctly or incorrectly) and there is no time limit. The SRS is not affected because you Previewing, not Reviewing. You can do this as often as you want, and for as many items or levels as you want. The only real caveats are that you can only do this on the web version (not the app versions) and you can only do it in the order in which the Preview mode presents the items to you. But hey, I think it is much cleaner than the ignore/un-ignore option.
I often Preview entire levels even if I originally only cared about a few items. I generally learn more by doing that, so I think it helps to reinforce my learning. Maybe this way only works for me, but perhaps others might want to give it a try and see if it works for them. Thanks.
Hi @pdao!
Yes, absolutely. Thereâs also the âreviewâ option within each level, too.
I only offered the clunky âignore/unignoreâ suggestion because the OP specifically asked about a way of omitting some levels from a review session without reviewing by level. I took it to mean the OP wanted to review the items due for review in the remaining levels randomly.
Itâs quite possible that I misunderstood, though.
@alanh ~ sorry, my bad. I guess I should have read the post from top down. (Itâs early here in Taiwan so I guess I am not quite awake yet).
(And yes, I know you can also use the âReviewâ option in the manner I described, but that involves points (for correct responses) and you know how sensitive some people are towards point farming. It also activates the timer (unless one has turned it off with a script, which luckily I have). It also doesnât display all the associated attributes.)
Sorry for the confusion with my post. Have a good day.
I have no idea why I never thought of using Preview this way. Good idea, thanks!
