Is there a way to efficiently move words from one level to another?

Just to add my thoughts, having cleaned up some courses …

As long as you only have a few words,
Delete the word in the level you don’t want it in then as @duaal says
Go to the level you want it in and start typing in the word (first column) and then accept the full entry.

It will still be in the database.

And of course you can move the ‘new’ word (or entry) up in the level to a new position (ie not at the bottom).

@DW7, the really annoying thing is that I picked a few words at random and they actually didn’t pop up as a suggestion. Maybe I have really somehow screwed something up.

I appreciate everyone’s ideas and help though. I think I’m going to just import it all into a new course, start again, and ignore a lot of the words I already know well. But then others can at least start accessing the course. So using the scraper tool you linked @ian_mn was great in organising everything in Excel and did save a lot of time because that’s useful regardless of whether I would have ended up loading the words into a new course or not.

Hopefully @MemriseSupport will see that a lot of us are after a tool to more easily manage the courses, and do something about it. I’ll have to keep an eye on this thread

Hi @bigfella88, I’ve put this forward again as a Feature Request for the relevant teams to consider in future updates to course creation/editing :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks MemriseSupport, Looking forward to it!

We’ve seen quite a few requests recently that you (usually) confirmed by stating that you’d see into those if several/many people ask for them - how about setting up a list of features that people can vote for?

This should really be implemented, if nothing else a popup redirecting the word to another course. I tried to retype the word in a new course but:

  • didn’t work, didn’t pick it up, suspect UTF-8 handling is not that robust for search and Asian languages
  • You add more words you have learned even if it’s the same word removed and re-added, it should know it was already learned.

Please fix, this is a pretty easy web UI implementation.
