there is a directory of previous memrise app versions somewhere which can be installed w/o Google Play - I do not recall if this included the latest one, or where exactly this is, sorry. I’d suggest you have a read through some of the (very) long threads around app versions, it will be in there somewhere

But the latest one of that is I think at least from mid 2016 or 2015, given its name.
