I can add words and definitions but how do i add wrong answers to a specific question? The goal here is to have 1 right answer and 3 similar but wrong answers.
Put all four answers in parenthesis at the end of the question. Set the course so the correct answer needs to be typed in so they don’t get clues from Memrise’s multiple choice which only shows correct responses.
Well i suppose i’ll find another site then. Thanks for your help though.
Well, Memrise itself automatically creates multiple choices that are similar to each other in spelling. Was that what you were looking for? Can you give an actual example from the course you were going to create?
For example a single question, 4 choices and one of them is correct:
<>Which of the following best categorizes use cases?
it is an analysis technique
is is both an analysis and a design technique
it is an design technique
it is an testing technique
Currently, Memrise does not allow you to create distractors for the multiple choice. Instead, they pick from the other correct answers in your same course. There are some tricks to replicate it, but nothing I’d recommend the average course creator to attempt.
I do encourage you to consider offering all four choices in the question. It works quite well. People can still choose the correct answer in the 8 choices Memrise offers.
That said, the best memory cards are recall. Don’t offer multiple choice since there should be one definite answer. Reason being, people will see this same question multiple times cause it is cementing memorization of the information. Multiple choice creates tricks to remember what’s not the correct answer which is not optimal in the long run.
