Hi,
I’ve been looking for a replacement for Quizlet and I found Memrise. Everything was fine until I checked an app. Having no picture is a no-no. I’m a teacher and I teach children, so visual aids (apart drom definitions) are a must.
As far as I understand, the picture can be shown on the app only if it’s tested, right?
There are many picture-based courses available on Memrise and you can create your own. The pictures are shown during the initial learning phase and during testing. There is a section on “Course Creation” in the FAQ section, which includes how to add pictures. Here is a link to an example of a picture-based vocabulary course that I made some time ago. Come back if you need any help.
I don’t want a picture based course, as I want the children to be tested on my language-English words.
Pictures show on the site, despite the fact that they are not tested and I’d like the same for the app. To just show pictures to help in memorising. Sometimes there isn’t a word, but a phrase, like “Guess what?” and it’s hard to find a picture for that.
Oh! OK. Which course are you looking at on the website that shows pictures that don’t show on the app. Can you post a link so that I can understand better what you are aiming for?
