The official Memrise courses still seem to be functioning, but not the user created ones.

Yeah, same here. The app is totally unusable.

Add another one here. App keeps crashing when I try to open it after the latest iphone update.

Everything seems to work now, but the course list doesn’t show how many reviews. It shows all courses I have added but it’s as if there’s no progress. However when I select the course, everything seems fine there. It’s just the list now that doesn’t seem to work.

App is unusable; crashes on startup.

I uninstalled and then reinstalled it, and it loaded but then once I log-in it crashes.

  1. If you are using an older version of Memrise, and an older OS (<11) and Memrise is crashing, we would advise you to update Memrise (2.3.48). Failing that solving the issue, please also update to iOS 12.

  2. If you are already using iOS 12, and Memrise 2.3.48, can you let us know if you have ignored any items in your courses? We can then investigate further.

Yes, i ignored a few items of my custom courses. İ use ios 12 and the newest update of memrise. When it tries to open the app it immediately crashes.

Also on ios 12 and have ignored items in my courses. (Also using an IPhone 8 and the latest version of Memrise.)

My Memrise has also started crashing after I updated to the latest version (2.3.48). iPhone Xs with IOS 12. Have tried uninstalling Memrise, rebooting the iPhone, reinstalling Memrise, but no luck. Very frustrating. And yes, I have ignored items in some of my courses.

Same here, I have the newest version of the app as well as the newest iOS and the app will not open on either of my devices (ipad and iphone SE) I try to open it it attempts to load and then black screens and crashes the app. Uninstalling and reinstalling it did nothing. I have skipped things in the custom courses as well as downloaded courses for offline use. Hope this gets fixed soon.

Same problem. iOS 12.0.1 and Memrise 2.3.48. Yes, I have ignored some items – mostly incorrect or malfunctioning items in Spanish courses.

I also uninstalled the app and rebooted before re-installing. Same result.

Really disappointing in light of poor performance characteristics of the browser-based alternative.

Same here. Worked fine for several courses but once I switch to one course the app crashed and can’t be opened again. For now I use the beta to be able to review.

Tested on two different devices running iOS 12.0.1 and the latest Memrise release.

I found a solution to my problem:

Uninstall app.
Reinstall app. (restart iPhone not essential)
NEVER NEVER ACCESS COURSE “AQA GCSE Spanish HT” and everything is OK.

The course “AQA GCSE Spanish HT” immediately causes the app to stop functioning until the app is reinstalled. This is the only course in my list that locks up the app. There is obviously something in the course that the app cannot handle.
