If you restart a course, do you keep your points on the leaderboard?

Hi, in my French class at school we’ve been given some homework that requires us to try and achieve the most points in the class on a course we were set over the Easter Holidays, with the prize being some chocolate. It was going quite well for me until a few days ago, as I was the only student who had actually done any at all, and I still have a 17 day streak on the course. However, a girl from my class spent all of Sunday on the course and had almost as many points as me but I was managing to stay ahead until last night, when I completed the course. Now, I have no way of getting XP and she has overtaken me. The lesson was supposed to be yesterday when I was still in the lead, but my French teacher wasn’t in, and the lesson has been postponed until next week, so I was wondering; considering that I have plenty of time, if I were to reset the course would I keep my XP from before in the group? and also my streak? Winning this is very important to me and I would be very happy to do the whole course again if it would allow me to. Thanks.

Good work completing the course! Yes, you will keep your streak and your points and level (I suppose that is what you call XP).
XP you get for every positive action; it’s not collection of all you know. You never loose points.

BTW: you can keep getting points by doing Classic Reviews and Speed Reviews, but it is somewhat slow if you review words you know (only 5 points at a time or so). But with Speed Review, you can get quite some if you get to a really high total number of words (i.e. really seldom one wrong).

When you pass your daily quota, you will keep you streak.

If you restart a course, it is as if you are starting from scratch all over again. You will start a new streak, but you will still have the accumulated points from working on the course before. But I think the streak will be broken. At least, that is what happened to me when I restarted a Swedish course.

Question: Have you ever done over-watering with a “classic review” on the web portal the last weeks / months?

There has been a code change (update) a while ago and you can earn now max. 150 points per word with over-watering (you do not need due reviews).

You can earn more than with just speed reviews depending on how many times you knew the word and in what point cycle the word is exactly in…

There is no need to restart a course on the web portal just for the points…

Thank you so much!
