I need help

I don’t know if I’m in the right place, and I’m probably not, but I don’t know where else to go for help.
So basically I’m learning Japanese and I want to only have to learn Japanese words, not the Japanese alphabet, if that makes sense. For example, I would want to only learn “Hai” for yes, and not “はい”. If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it.

There are some courses like that, but I don’t know which ones. I would like to stop you right there though, because you’re not going to get anywhere without learning the alphabet or kanji. Japanese is tremendously long and difficult(but very rewarding), and if you’re not willing to learn at least hiragana, then you’ll give up pretty quick. Also, learning the grammar and words that have many different meanings will be extremely difficult if you don’t know how to read it, and romaji isn’t good enough for that part of learning the language.

If you want an easy way to get into the language that starts out using romaji but gradually introduces you to learning hiragana and using it, this course is good. It’s also the first course I did here on memrise too.

Also, sorry if I was being harsh, but I was just being honest. I hope you do continue to learn Japanese, it’s a great language to learn, but you really, really do need to learn the written language too. Good luck!

Thank you for your help, reading that made me realize that you’re probably right. Not gonna lie, I was learning it so I could watch Japanese dubbed shows ( As one of the reasons ) but it’s better to learn the written language. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to help me.

you’re looking for a course entirely written in roumaji

that course is not finished: there are some mistakes with the spaces, and the last level is notcomplete

Hello!

If you select japanese language, in the left bottom part you have a section where you can select courses with kanji, kana or roumaji.

Anyway, I agree with @AkiraKurusu, you can try to learn it in roumaji (latin alphabet) but learning japanese characters will take you much further than learning in roumaji…

Just in case you change your mind, I´ll just put here these two videos. You won´t instantly learn the characters, it takes more than just 1 hour to learn them, but they will make the hiragana and katakana learning much easier and shorter.

Also, for practicing you might like this game: http://www.kongregate.com/games/tukkun/kana-warrior

I hope this helps!

could you really LEARN it with those vid’s?
I prefer memrise to learn the kana

No, I didn´t learn just watching the videos, haha! In my comment I said that it helped, but that one (well, at least I ) can´t learn kana in just one hour… But they helped a lot when I started with kana, because it was easier to learn them with these hints. To me this was like the Remember The Kanji hints, but for kana, haha!

But of course, I had to practice a lot with memrise and obenkyo for really learning them! Also, obenkyo helped me for learning how to write them manually (stroke order and directions).
