I need a new Course

Good afternoon to all Memrise’s Community.
I’m Kevin and after a lot of effort and hours of learning, I finished the UK English for Spanish Speaks.
Now, I need your suggestions
What course do you recommend for continue learning UK English?
I would like to take the test for a B2 or B1 (My dream :smile: :muscle:), but I need to learn a lot of English yet.

I will wait for your responses.

Have a nice day,
Kevinq

I kinda feel bad because after having look in the English courses for Spanish speakers, a lot of the courses are incomplete or lazy. For instance, one promising course has English definitions for English words for some reason instead of Spanish.

But this one looks pretty good. I don’t know too much Spanish, but the English verbs in it are extremely helpful and probably things you would not learn in Memrise’s courses.

@Geil, thanks for your recommendation
I will check it and I will tell you my opinion :muscle:
I was thinking in this course https://www.memrise.com/course/754466/400-words-of-toefl-intermediate-english/ , It seems good, but the word’s definition are in English :expressionless:

Thanks for your time,
Have a nice afternoon,
Kevin

I hope I am not in the minority in saying this, but a lot of those definitions are too generic. The above course I think will provide you a much deeper insight than the one you linked. Germanic languages are extremely verb focused and rich. The university I work for, the foreigners from India to China know a surprising amount of words such as nouns, both object and abstract. What they lack is verbs. They simply sound too basic. If you can master even just half of those phrasal verbs, you will be way ahead of the pack.

@OneLessonMore if you are interested, I am/have built a course for English/German with the intention of moving away from English as quickly as possible while primarily focusing on German genders, plurals, case declensions & adjectives; in other words, English translations do not continue through all phases/phases of the course. I have built it in a way that additional languages could be included (what’s one more database column?!), by adding secondary/complimentary lessons translating the German from the other language. The learner can then pick/choose whether they learn from the English or the “other language” lesson, before moving onto the German against German lessons that are unaffected by the “learning from” language. I thought Spanish would be a good choice, as I know a decent amount, but there’s enough work [for me] sourcing the German resources, so I’ve not gone that route.

If you have worked with the Memrise databases (backend) and interested in adding Spanish, let me know. For the most part, I have not sourced my data from the German wiki, (too many corrections/cleanup needed) so the definitions are largely not “book” or British English, more “American English” if there is such a thing.
