Like the vast majority of you i am saddened, and absolutely effing livid , by Ed Crook’s decision to extirpate the community courses from the memrise app.
Here’s the thing though, I renewed my pro membership back in September, but according to that (idiotic) announcement all of the pro features that I bought pro for (ie: difficult words), are going to be available for free, or not be available at all for community courses (offline study), which is to say, all of my courses.
So what the heck is the use of a pro membership for me now??? If none of these features are going to be available for what I use memrise for, then I want to demand a freaking refund for the time I have left on my subscription!
Difficult words will be free now?? I also renewed in September I think. Maybe October. I very very nearly paid for life too, i’m glad I didn’t. On the upside, I won’t need to pay again. Difficult words was the sole reason why I paid. If memrise wants to remove incentive to pay, that’s on them, I just hope it won’t lead to a closure of the entire service due to lack of funds.
