How to set account to automatically block all mems?

I’ve tried following the instructions on Memrise for hiding specific mems and for reporting mems but none of them have worked for me. Neither on the Android app not the website (using Chrome). So since I cannot block individual mems that I find counterproductive I would like to block all of them automatically for all courses.

Is there a way to do this?

:cry: I suspected that would be the answer but was holding on to a little ray of hope.

I guess I’ll have to spend time playing with different browsers to see if I can block the distracting ones.

@WildSage - As @Rodyzi says, there is no setting that would block all mems from a course. You can only block mems for individual items using the “go without a mem” function:

It’s going to be a slow process (using the “Preview” function in “Options”) but it’s the only way to do it in one go. :grimacing: Or you could just do it gradually while learning or reviewing, instead. :slight_smile:

You said you have already tried following the instructions for doing this but that it didn’t work. It should work on the website version - but you have to be on the item’s page (either in learn, review or preview) to see the “go without a mem” option.

Thank you. The “Go without a mem” was hidden and I hadn’t scrolled down far enough. The pictures helped. It is slow going though the old ones but at lease I can get rid of the ones that are less than helpful.

The “Go without a mem” feature is for single items. To hide mems for the whole course, just uncheck the “Always load mems” button:

and, instead of seeing mems, you will see:

Subsequent clicking on the “Help me remember this” button will re-instate the ‘mem stream’, or you can re-check the “Always load mems” option to do that.

Always load mems was unchecked. They were still loading them anyway.

And all of this is only available on the website which really makes the app a pain to use.

@Lien, @joshua, is this a bug? I have experimented with checking and unchecking that box and it works ok for me using Chrome. Thanks!
