I want to make a vocab list for practicing antonyms and synonyms. How can I make a course with the target language on both sides of the card?
I donât think there is a way of achieving that. Here is an example of one that someone has tried but I donât think itâs what you are aiming for: Vocab 1 synonyms and antonyms - Memrise
One way might be to use different levels. For example, in Level 1 have âwordâ paired with its âantonymâ and in Level 2 have (the same) âwordâ paired with its âsynonymâ. You could try experimenting with a third column or an attribute to show the relevant antonym or synonym in the appropraite Level but I havenât tried that to see whatâs possible.
Others may be able to suggest better solutions/workarounds.
Good luck!
I made a monolingual French course (for myself) and it allowed me to do âFrench for French speakersâ. image|683x81
I could make both sides French :
I do have my Memrise language in French, so I donât know if that allows me to do it, but you can try making yours in whatever language youâre learning.
Hi @phoque and welcome to the forum,
Yes, thatâs a good point. Similar to yours, the example course that I linked to in my earlier post is an âEnglish for English speakers courseâ.
I may have misunderstood nunuvyurbidnizâs question. I thought it was asking how to have both the antonym and the synonym showing for the subject word (as a single item).
Oh, that makes sense. I kept re-reading the question, but I guess my interpretation is quite off. Your answer is the best solution I believe. Thank you for telling me @alanh
Hi @nunuvyurbidniz,
hereâs an example that i think might help.
You see the first line asks for the word in what word you are trying to teach, with your problem the antonym or synonym should be in the first blank and the second on the meaning of the word.
I made a fake course to show an example,
Itâs learning English from English and the first blank asks for the word you are teaching then the meaning.
Hopefully this helped.
