Hey guys, does anyone know how to get the words from the database into the levels?
I have a database and created two levels but on the levels page they are empty.
Also, can I make various levels all using the same database? Or should each level have it own database? Or is it just easier to put in the words directly into the levels instead of using the database?
Thanks a lot in advance!
@FreekVanE Hi, I’m not sure if this will help or not, but I’ll link it anyway as it might explain it better than I can.
But I’ll try and explain anyway’s, as I remember when I first started creating memrise course’s it was really confusing to get the hang of it.
Have you all ready added words to your database? If so, what I would do is when on your database, there is a button to the top right that says “create levels” and a number “15” next to it. Click the number to change that to the number of items/words you want per a level and then click create levels.
Once this is done it will create levels with the words in your database, although Levels 1 and 2 will be empty and the levels will be created from Level 3 onwards, but you can just delete levels 1 and 2 once this is done.
If you haven’t put any words into you database yet, or have all ready done the last step I just said and you are manually adding one word at a time, I would add the words directly to the levels instead of the database, as that way the words get added to the levels as well as the database.
Obviously if you are adding a whole bunch of words at once though it will be easier to do a “+Bulk Add” on the database first.
And yes you can create as many levels as you want using the same database.
I hope this helps.
Hi @tampora thank you so much for your help.
I think the site wasn’t functioning properly before, due to poor internet connection.
As it is now, I can find words from the database in the level edit screen by typing the first few letters. Also the create levels option from the database screen works just fine now.
However, I want to create levels with different amounts of words. Now that everything is working as should be, I find it easiest to create a level and then use the “add bulk” function to add the amount of entries I want. They also get added automatically to the database so I avoid double work.
Once again thank you so much for taking the time to respond to my question.
Kind regards
Freek
That’s ok, I’m happy to help out when I can.
