Thanks for the insight
On Community courses on the Android App, I am still shown any available Mem to select (which I do and it works) and also the option to create my own - which I haven’t tried yet.
BUT it seems new Mems can only be text not images, which are really what everyone wants (especially in non ‘Roman’ script where forming the shape is important).
I would personally be OK with just text, but desktop users don’t even get that option anymore…which is so incredibly frustrating and stupid.
That’s unusual, as the team want the different mediums to look the same.
I would have thought the web would give us more options.
@alanh hi, are you using pro version?
I even cannot find the beta box in my setting. this is all I have in the setting
@phuongthaominhduc280 Sadly, they removed the option. Currently, it seems like the only way to create Mems is to use the Android app.
This will be the end of “Rise” for me. They no longer see mnemonics as their USP, which makes the name a bit weird. But I guess we Mem creators/users just aren’t the intended users/customers any more. A bit sad, and inconvenient, but sometimes we just need to know how to move on when we’re not wanted any more.
Mnemonics and meme’s have always been their defence. Why do they do away with it?
If you started of with Memrise almost 10 years ago, and then come back, it’s awfull to notice how much has been changed without improving it.
thank you so much
Learning from pictures is much more effective for some people, like me. (I’m pretty sure I saw research on this somewhere.)Adding text mems would be no different than just memorizing the word. @MemriseSupport BRING BACK MEMS, please!
Oh, I agree that there should still be a picture option. However, a notes feature would be better than nothing. The fact that we did have both options, and now there are no options at all is, as I said before, really stupid and frustrating. I never said pictures didn’t help, though. I said quite the opposite actually, and repeatedly.
P.S. They don’t care.
