How to add optional levels?

Hello,

I am currently creating a course that mirrors this one - http://www.memrise.com/course/30801/minna-no-nihongo-i/ but teaches you the extra vocabulary in the book. In the original course there are optional kanji levels marked with ⇄. I cannt figure out how to do this on my own course.

Does anyone know how to create these optional levels?

My guess would be that it’s just a special character in the level name.
