How does the "Spanish (Spain)" course compare to "Spanish (Mexico)"?

I am primarily interested in Spanish from a Latin American perspective. However, I have found with apps from other European-based companies (e.g. Busuu, Babbel) that the European Spanish resources are usually far better, and the Latin American Spanish resources can be an afterthought.

(For example, I’m asking this question here, rather than in the “Spanish (Mexico)” forum, because as of mid-October that forum hasn’t had a single post yet this year!)

However, from a quick glance, it looks like the Memrise-official “Spanish (Spain)” and “Spanish (Mexico)” courses at least have the same number of units, and seem roughly similar. So I’m wondering if they really are closer to full parity than you often find on other apps? Thanks!
