Hi, complete and total newbie here, so if this has already been explained, I apologize. In a course that I’ve recently been added to, the words “un mot” and “une parole” are taught, and both have been given the same, exact definition of “word.” Since this makes it a total guess for the student as to which French word is being asked for, I would like to revise the definitions to “word [ not parole]” and “word [not mot]” in keeping with the format used by the creator. However, I can’t figure out to do that. The only thing I see that I can do is add an alternative; whereas I want to change the definition. I know it’s possible to do, as some one else did so to a similar combination before I was added as a contributor. I have extremely limited experience with databases, and could really use a very simple, step by step explanation. Pictures would be even more helpful!
hi,
on the edit course page, you can just click on the definition. Then you will see the cursor on the text and will be able to edit it.
If you click on the text of an entry in the database (or on the edit levels page) it should open up to edit. It’s not obvious, until you know how to do it!
Some pics fo you too
just click on an entry and a box appears around that entry.
Now you can alter the word
Thank you so much! That was way easier than I was making it out to be! It may take me a while, but I am going to figure both this forum thing as well the contributor thing. also @Atikker
It works! Thank you!
Hi @JoThelan,
Apologies if this is a stupid question but have you found the “Knowledge Base” in the “FAQ” area of the website? There’s lots of helpful, explanatory stuff there.
Otherwise, just keep asking. There’s plenty of people willing to help.
Nope, I haven’t even found the Knowledge Base or the FAQ yet. Are they on the forum site or the regular site? Going to have to go do a little searching!
On the ‘regular [learning] site’. You may need to scroll down to the foot of the page:
Happy hunting!
Oh, that is amazing, Alan! I will definitely be doing some exploring in that section!
