How can I merge progress of a course I started with a newly created group course?

Hello, I have been studying the Russian language courses on my own for a couple months now. I’m approximately half way through the Russian 5 course (currently 185/441).

I also have had a private tutor for some time now. Since I found Memrise, I have shown it to her as a tool we could use in our private lessons. Yesterday, I helped her create a group as a teacher, and add my user to it. Then, she added the Russian 5 course to the set of courses for that group.

The result is that I now have two active Russian 5 courses to study: my original one, and the one she created in her group. As far as I can tell these should be identical courses, as they are the standard memrise courses. However, in the course created in the group, I have no progress. I really don’t want to start over the same exact course again, so I’m hoping there is a way to either combine the courses, or export the progress from one course and import into the other.

One other detail that might be useful: my original course shows Russian 5 progress at 185/441. The new group course shows 5/455 (14 more total words). So, is it possible that Memrise made modifications to this course since I started it, and that is causing an issue?

Hello.
Memrise has versions for British English and American English. You are seeing two courses because one is UK and the other US English.

UK English: https://www.memrise.com/course/1123056/russian-5/

US English: https://www.memrise.com/course/1180541/russian-5/

Interesting thanks for that response! So, I need my teacher to include the US English version then. I’m going to assume that to find the US English version she first needs to select English (US) in the “I Speak” dropdown, before searching for the Russian course. I’ll have her try that and report back.

Yes. In order for you to prioritize the course you started first, select English (US) in the “I Speak” dropdown, on the courses page (as in your figure above).

I would just like to add that the courses for UK English and US English speakers are the same (respecting their particularities), but from time to time, Memrise renews its official courses. And about a month ago, for its main courses, Memrise renewed modules 1 and 2, for British English speakers. Over time, I believe this will be done for American English as well.

So, at this time, the courses are different for modules 1 and 2. However, since you are in Module 5, there is no difference.
