Lien no longer handles direct user support requests. This is now @MemriseMatty’s responsibility. I didn’t see it announced on the forum itself, but Lien has updated her profile with the following announcement:
“My colleague Matthew (aka MemriseMatty) has taken over all support-related tasks from me. Please make sure to tag @memrisematty for support-related queries.”
Based on her update, we should stop tagging Lien, and start tagging MemriseMatty instead, from now on.
I’m not Matty, but I’d recommend that you say immediately what you want when you tag him - then when he comes he sees what you want from him and doesn’t have to waste time by saying “What’s the matter” and then waiting for you to respond.
If you want to send him a reminder, and avoid “cluttering” with those repeated questions, why not send him a private message, linked to your questions.
is this the habit nowadays, sending PMs for “officious questions”? I don’t find that a good idea… and than what is the use of the fora, if pm here pm there… the user was not cluttering, he just never got an answer…
private message/PM means something is regarded as private (ok, some idiots use it to insult “in private”, but that happens rarely, i hope)
Several posts after each other relating to this former request seems a good enough reason to mention it.
As the question had been asked on item 20, in December it is fair enough to ask memrisematty again in January, but by mp would have avoided comments 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32 and now 33
Hi @duaal - It seems like the course creator is still active. We’ve sent them another invite to read your comments, and notified them of the contributor function.
The contributor function has traditionally been used for when course creators would like assistance in their efforts. If you do not know the course creator, and they are not active on the forum, we would advise moving on to another community course or ignoring the word in question - http://feedback.memrise.com/knowledgebase/articles/524618-how-do-i-ignore-words-skip-levels
(We cannot guarantee we will always be able to add users to courses when they do not know the creator).
We’re working on making it easier for users to interact with other users without having to rely on Memrise staff or forums
Thanks, Petr. I have emailed Simscreed and invited them to this thread
Hopefully we’ll hear back from them soon.
If it stays quiet, please remind me in a week or so. I can then look into adding a contributor to the course. Would you be interested in becoming a contributor?
I would be pleased to become one, however … the best case scenario still would be, to become one with consent and control of the original Course-creator - because it seems the original course had some connection to particular “real-life” university course.
I believe as co-contributor I could manage the course in a such a way, that it would not hinder the original intent (being academic myself), however for that I would need some contact with and feedback from the original Univesity staff.
Anyway, in case of no-contact result, … that would be fine with me as well , as long as long we can safely asume, that this course became orphaned for good
Hi @MemriseMatty, I hope you are still helping with contacting course creators. I’m trying to contact Christof_, creator of “2014 flags of Europe” (https://www.memrise.com/course/350572/2014-flags-of-europe) but he isn’t a user in the Memrise-community. The Albanian flag is missing in the course
I want to improve the course I’m learning (SAT comprehensive), so I posted a comment at the course forum few months ago, but I couldn’t get any reponse. It seems course creater isn’t on forum, also isn’t active on Memrise too.
Recently, @duaal kindly tell me about this thread so here I am.
May I ask you to contact course creater so we can talk about issues on course?
I just discovered this thread. I’m trying to get in touch with the creator of the course “Elementary Uzbek 1” named Lilienthal because I would like to improve the course by adding audio if possible!
This is part of an initiative of my tutor and me to have a course for the book we’re studying through. If for some reason we can’t get access to the course, I’d be happy to create a new identical course that includes audio… but that seems like unnecessary clutter for the Uzbek course list.
